If you drive a compact SUV — Qashqai, Sportage, Tucson, 3008, Kuga, T-Roc — your replacement is normally another compact SUV, subject to availability; this is the highest-volume SUV band in UK hire supply. Which models count as like-for-like for a compact SUV?
Any mainstream C-segment crossover of equivalent size and market position: a Sportage for a Qashqai, a Tucson for a Kuga. The match is about raised seating, cabin and boot space, and family utility — the reasons you bought an SUV — not badge duplication (how matching works).
What will I not be given?
Not a hatchback: a Golf-class car does not replace an SUV's seating position, boot or door apertures, and SUV drivers should not accept a hatch as like-for-like. Nor a large SUV: Sorento/Santa Fe-class vehicles, seven seats and towing capability belong to the large SUV & 4x4 class.
Do you need a compact SUV replacement?
