How credit hire vehicle supply works

Credit hire cars come from dedicated hire fleets and rental partners run by specialist credit hire companies, and are typically delivered to your home or workplace rather than collected from a depot. Delivery is usually arranged within one to two working days of a claim being accepted, and often same-day or next-day where the vehicle class is a common one.

Where do credit hire cars come from?

From high-utilisation fleets owned or contracted by credit hire companies, stocked with the models that dominate our review library: Corsas and Polos at small-hatch level, Golfs and Focuses in the medium class, Qashqais and Sportages in compact SUV, 3 Series and E-Classes at executive and prestige level, Transit Customs on the van side. Fleets buy these models for the same reason we review them — they are the cars the class system calls for most often.

How quickly is the car delivered?

For common classes, typically within one to two working days of the hire being agreed, and frequently sooner; the car is brought to you and handed over with a condition report. Rarer classes — sports and convertibles, high-end prestige, plated taxis — depend on fleet availability and can take longer, which each class page states honestly (what you will get).

Can I choose the car I get?

You can state a preference, but what is supplied is usually an equivalent vehicle in your class, not a specific make or model. If your exact model is not in fleet, the company supplies the nearest like-for-like match — the class pages list the real substitutions used (what you will get, class by class).

What happens when my car is repaired?

The hire ends when your own car is returned to you or your claim is otherwise resolved; the hire car is collected, inspected against the handover condition report, and hand-back is documented. How long the hire can run, and who pays for the period, are questions about the claim itself, and sit outside this site's vehicle-only scope.
